In addition to the veterinarians, we have a staff of ten helpful employees consisting of veterinary assistants and receptionists to make your visit easier. The focus of our clinic is to provide personalized, individual care and our support staff is an integral part of fulfilling our mission. Your dog and cat will grow to love the friendly faces that greet them at Central Animal Hospital.
Anna, RVT – Practice Manager
Anna graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Ogeechee Technical College in August of 2012 and has been a part of the Central Animal Hospital team since February of 2013. She lives at home with her two dogs, four cats, rabbit, and her husband Tommy. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach and walking her dogs.
Louella – Veterinary Technician
Louella began working for Central Animal Hospital in January 2014. She was born in Oceanside, CA, but has lived in Savannah for the majority of her life. Louella received her Veterinary Assistant Certification from Long Medical Institute and has worked in the veterinary field for over 19 years. In her free time, she loves to relax and spend time with her 3 children and her 3 animal babies (Delilah her dachshund, Zeus her pit bull and Mercy her cat). She also enjoys practicing hair styling.
Tad – Veterinary Technician
Tad joined the Central team in July 2012 as a life-long resident of Savannah with well over 8 years of experience in the small animal field as well as wildlife and large animal. Tad attended Windsor Forest High School and Armstrong Atlantic State University (now a college of Georgia Southern) where he focused primarily on animal sciences and pre-vet studies, but ultimately decided the technician field was more for him! Tad lives at home with two rescue cats and his husband, Mason.
Nevada – Veterinary Technician
Nevada moved to Savannah in August of 2018 for her husband’s business. She is originally from Louisiana but grew up in Charlotte. She is married with three wonderful children. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her family and her dog Simba. She loves paddle boarding, going for a run and has recently started kayaking.
Shannon – Veterinary Technician
Shannon grew up in New Hampshire and attended high school in Exeter, NH & Madrid, NY. After graduating, Shannon followed her love of animals to work with animal care organizations all over the United States including positions with: the Arbor Animal Hospital, the Portsmouth Animal Emergency Room, Pine Grove Arabians, Brentwood Animal Hospital in New Hampshire, the IC Cattle & Timber group, Shamrock Ranch in Oregon, Savannah Animal Care, and the Charleston Specialty & Emergency Room. Her professional background includes 34 years of veterinary medicine. She has developed her entrepreneurship abilities through owning her own companies, first with Adventure Dog Day Care Training & Grooming, and then again with Shannon’s Corner Salon. One of the highlights of her career was helping convict an animal abuser while serving as the animal control officer for Postdam, NY. She has also worked as a private contractor to the US Govt when she taught wilderness survivor training in Oregon. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Animal Nursing. Shannon currently resides in the Thunderbolt, with her pack of rescue hounds, assorted guinea fowl, exotic chickens and a hive of honeybees. She can be found watching The British Baking Show while munching on Chinese take-out and sipping on a diet coke. A true renaissance woman, Shannon enjoys homesteading, beekeeping, soap/candle making, gardening, photography, and most importantly, enjoying life by hanging with her hounds.
Kristen – Head Receptionist
Kristen is married and has four girls. She moved to Savannah in 2005 and has been working in the vet field for 12 years. She has one dog and four cats. Kristen has been with Central Animal Hospital since September of 2016. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Shari – Receptionist
Shari moved to Savannah seven years ago from Columbus, Ohio. She grew up with multiple pets her whole life and has always had a deep love for animals. She has worked in the veterinary field for the past 12 years. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her partner and their two dogs, Alfred and Trigger. She is a retired Savannah Derby Devil and has found a new love in CrossFit. Shari hopes to become a CrossFit instructor in the near future.
Terra – Receptionist
Terra is from New Jersey and moved to Georgia about 14 years ago. She joined our team at Central Animal Hospital in August of 2019. She grew up with many pets and now has three dogs of her own. She graduated from Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia. Go Eagles! In her spare time, Terra enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Missy – Patient Care Manager
Missy joined the central family in May of 2018. She jumped right into her job as the patient care manager and is fitting in well. She is very playful, talkative and loves to cuddle.
